Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park — The magnificent “green lung” of Central Vietnam
Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park is not only famous for its unique cave systems but is also considered the “green lung” of Central Vietnam. It is one of the largest and most biologically diverse primeval forests in the country, covering more than 123,000 hectares.
Venturing deep into the forest, visitors will encounter towering ancient trees, thick lianas, shaded jungle trails, and the captivating sounds of birds echoing through the canopy. The damp, earthy scent of the forest leaves creates a refreshing, soothing atmosphere.
Moreover, the park plays a crucial role in regulating the regional climate, preserving water sources, preventing soil erosion, and safeguarding the headwaters for the entire area. Thanks to these invaluable contributions, Phong Nha – Ke Bang has been recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage Site, not only for its geological formations but also for its extraordinary biodiversity.
