Day 1: Hanoi – Thac Ba Lake (220 km – Homestay)
We ride out of the bustling Hanoi, following the Red River toward Phu Tho province. Winding through scenic hills, we reach Thac Ba – one of the largest artificial lakes in Vietnam. Enjoy a peaceful boat ride on the lake and spend the night in a traditional stilt house in a Dao ethnic village.
Day 2: Thac Ba Lake – Bac Ha Market (170 km – Homestay)
Ride along riverside trails and remote hill roads through the wilderness of Lao Cai province. If it’s Sunday, you’ll witness the vibrant Bac Ha Market – the largest ethnic market in Northern Vietnam, where locals trade everything from livestock to handmade goods.
Day 3: Bac Ha – Ha Giang (150 km – Tay Family Homestay)
A stunning ride along Vietnam's northern border, passing rice terraces and houses clinging to cliffs. We end the day in a peaceful Tay village, enjoy home-cooked dinner, and toast with cold local beer.
Day 4: Ha Giang – Yen Minh – Dong Van (140 km – Hotel)
Explore the heart of Ha Giang province – home to Tay, Red Dao, and H’mong people. Ride through jaw-dropping mountain landscapes, visit the H’mong King’s Palace hidden in a small valley, and continue into the UNESCO-recognized Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark.
Day 5: Dong Van – Ma Pi Leng Pass – Meo Vac – Bao Lac (100 km – Hotel)
Today’s highlight: crossing the legendary Ma Pi Leng Pass – one of Vietnam’s most breathtaking roads. Ride along the Vietnam–China border and through remote villages by the Nho Que River before arriving in the quiet mountain town of Bao Lac.
Day 6: Bao Lac – Ban Gioc Waterfall (180 km – Homestay)
Ride deep into the northeast and visit Ban Gioc – the largest waterfall in Vietnam and one of the most beautiful in Asia, sitting right on the Chinese border. We stay overnight in a peaceful nearby village.
Day 7: Ban Gioc – Ba Be Lake (220 km – Homestay)
Cruise through tiny backroad villages and lush landscapes on the way to Ba Be Lake – one of the world's 9 largest natural freshwater lakes. Enjoy a relaxing boat ride, go swimming, and stay with a local Tay family where you can join in cooking and enjoy a traditional feast
Day 8: Ba Be Lake – Hanoi (220 km)
Time to head back to Hanoi. We ride through scenic roads, finish the trip at our garage, and arrange a taxi to your hotel – ending an unforgettable 8-day journey through Northern Vietnam.
